Farming Internship Position
We are currently seeking full time farm interns for the 2023 season, beginning in April and continuing to November. Compensation is bi-weekly @ $15/hr. Must be able to legally work in the US. Work hours will generally be 8 hour days, M-F, and 5 hours on Saturday, but hours are weather dependent.
Our internship program includes experience in all aspects of running a sustainable CSA farm with organic practices, including, but not limited to: plant propagation, transplanting, direct seeding, field prep and maintenance, cultivation, harvesting, preparing produce for market-style CSA pickup, member interaction, safe use of farm equipment, philosophy of soil stewardship including use of cover crops, crop rotation, companion planting, organic amendments and composting. Interns must be physically fit, have stamina, team spirit, a strong work ethic, and a passion for the environment.
ELIJA Farm operates a traditional vegetable CSA. It provides an innovative farm-based vocational training program for young adults with autism and also serves as an educational farm for K-12 students from local school districts. Interns have the opportunity to work with young adults on the autism spectrum, as well as school district students.

Adaptive Agriculture Instructor Internship Position
We are currently seeking part time adaptive agriculture instructors to intern for the 2023 season, beginning in May and continuing through October. Compensation is bi-weekly @ $15/hr. Must be able to legally work in the US. Work hours will generally be 4-6 hours per day, Monday-Friday.
Our adaptive agriculture instructor internship focuses on learning about ELIJA Farm’s adaptive agriculture techniques, as well as instructing and modifying farming practices for the special needs community that participates at ELIJA Farm. This internship provides hands on experience in involving individuals with Autism in all aspects of the farm; including, but not limited to: sowing, planting, weeding, groundskeeping, harvesting and vegetable processing. Interns must be willing to work outdoors; have stamina, team spirit, a strong work ethic; and a passion for education, inclusivity and the environment.

Interns will be working with young adults on the autism spectrum, as well as students with different abilities.
