A Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Farm offers family and friends the opportunity to buy a farm share of vegetables before the beginning of the season. CSA members form a contractual relationship with a farmer and receive a weekly portion of seasonal produce. The farmer commits to raising that produce with sustainable and environmentally responsible practices. CSA members form a partnership with their farmer and share in both the bounty and risk of farming, a model that helps farmers continue farming.
ELIJA Farm's CSA is a sustainable, non-profit farm committed to using environmentally responsible practices to raise high quality, organically grown produce. The ELIJA CSA is dedicated to enriching the health and wellness of our community by offering a CSA program that provides an abundance of fresh produce and dynamic learning opportunities to its diverse membership.
The 2018 ELIJA Farm CSA takes place for 16 weeks at the height of the summer farming season (mid-June to early-October) and will include a generous assortment of 8-10 different freshly picked vegetable items per week. Shares will be prepared by our diverse population and volunteers. Included with each membership is a large, sturdy ELIJA Farm tote bag which memebers can use to transfer their bounty and carry it home. The 2018 season is currently at capacity, but potential members are encouraged to complete our 2018 Waiting List .
Each week, during the CSA season, we make every effort to provide at least 1 – 2 products from each of the following 7 vegetable categories, as seasonally possible:
Spinach, lettuce, endive, kale, mustard greens, arugula, etc.
